Matt Farrar

LEAD MINISTER (JUNE 28, 2026)

Matt has been part of the Christ’s Church staff since June 2012, serving in a variety of ministry roles that have helped shape the heart and mission of the church. His passion is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by helping them see how God’s Word connects to everyday life.

Matt and his wife, Megan, have been married since January 15, 2011. Together they’re raising four incredible kids — Zariyah (11), Zailyn (9), Audi (7), and Eloge’ (3). As a family, they love being involved in the life of the church, serving on ministry teams, and spending time outdoors whenever they can.

As Matt prepares to step into the role of Lead Minister on June 28, 2026, his desire is simple: to keep pointing people to Jesus, build a healthy and unified team culture, and lead Christ’s Church faithfully into its next season of ministry.

Jeff Michael

TEACHING MINISTER

Jeff has been part of the Christ’s Church staff since the summer of 1995 and has faithfully served as Lead Minister since 1999. Under his leadership, Christ’s Church has grown in both size and spiritual depth — impacting countless lives through clear biblical teaching, a strong commitment to community, and a passion for helping people follow Jesus.

Jeff and his wife, Michelle, have built a beautiful life together, raising six children and investing deeply in the life of the church family.

As Christ’s Church enters a new season of leadership, Jeff is stepping into a new role as Teaching Minister. While he is not retiring, this transition allows him to focus on his greatest passion — preaching, teaching, and equipping people to live out God’s Word in their daily lives — while continuing to serve alongside the team he loves. Jeff will remain on staff and is excited to be Matt’s biggest fan as he steps into the Lead Minister role.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why succession now?

We believe this transition is the result of God’s leading. Over time, God has stirred Jeff’s heart to begin preparing for a new season of ministry, and in His perfect timing, He has provided the right person to carry the vision forward. After prayerful consideration, both Jeff and the Elders believe that Matt is the natural successor.

Why Matt?

Matt has faithfully served on staff at Christ’s Church since 2012, demonstrating a deep love for God’s Word, a passion for people, and a commitment to healthy, team-oriented leadership. His ability to connect with others, build unity, and cast vision for the future has made a lasting impact across every area of ministry.

Jeff and the Elders believe Matt is the right leader for this next season — someone who will continue pointing people to Jesus, build upon the foundation already laid, and guide Christ’s Church with humility, wisdom, and faith.

Is Jeff leaving Christ’s Church?

No. Jeff is not leaving Christ’s Church. He will continue to serve on staff in a new role as Teaching Minister. This transition allows Jeff to focus on what he loves most — preaching, teaching, and mentoring others in God’s Word — while continuing to serve alongside the team and church family he’s helped lead for decades.

Jeff’s heart and presence will remain a vital part of Christ’s Church as he supports Matt, the staff, and the mission in this next season.

What can I do to support the transition?

The best way to support this transition is through prayer, encouragement, and unity. Pray for Jeff, Matt, their families, and the Christ’s Church staff as they walk through this season together. Change is always a time for faith, and we believe God is at work in every detail.

You can also show support by staying engaged — continuing to serve, give, and participate in the life of the church. Celebrate what God has done through Jeff’s faithful leadership, and look forward with expectation to what He will continue to do as Matt steps into this new role.

Most importantly, keep your eyes on Jesus, who remains the true Leader of His Church.
