Why are we moving
Sunday services to The Rosebud?
We are
moving to The Rosebud because of our current space limitations.
Completion of our new auditorium is at least 10-12 months away and we
are not content to maintain the status quo until it is completed.
Additionally, the Rosebud provides some unique outreach opportunities
because the building is such a high profile public facility, likely to
draw visitors from the community.
How long will we have
our services there?
Initially, 9 weeks - May and June. If the result is positive, we
will consider re-location until the completion of the new facility on
Veterans Drive.
What
about Sunday school?
Sunday
School, with the exception of “Next Steps” groups for newcomers, will
temporarily not be conducted. If the results of holding services
at the Rosebud are positive and we determine to relocate until the
completion of our new facility, the leadership will evaluate what
program elements need to be added.
Can we afford to do
this?
On our
current income, no we can not afford this move to the Rosebud. We
are renting the facility for 25% of the typical rental cost but this is
still money that is not currently budgeted. We hope that people
who can will increase their giving some in addition to an increase in
giving as a result of larger attendances.
How will this affect
our Room for More campaign?
The Room
for More giving is separate from the general fund. The expenses
for the Rosebud will not come from the Room for More campaign giving but
from the general fund. In the long term, if we add people to
Christ’s Church as a result of meeting at the Rosebud, this move could
positively add to Room for More.
Will we still have
children’s church?
Yes,
bigger and better! (Children's church will be through 4th grade.)
Will there be classes
for nursery and toddler aged children?
Yes.
If I am bringing my
kids, where should I go?
All
children will be checked in at a secure location in the north lobby.
We will have signs and greeters to direct parents to the specific
location.
In what ways could I
help make this go smoothly?
Every
week we need: a parking team, greeters, hostess, kid sign-in monitors,
set-up and tear-down crews, and kid helpers for kids of all ages.
